Charlie McCann is an outstanding young midfield maestro who has developed at two of Britain’s biggest football clubs before deciding to join Forest Green Rovers in the January transfer window in 2023. A clever technician with the ball, Charlie has a fantastic range of passing and dribbling skills that automatically put defenders on the back foot.

Joining the Green Devils in pursuit of first team football, McCann has an impressive football CV. Born in Coventry, he was part of the Coventry City youth setup until he was spotted by Manchester United in 2017. Honing his technical skills as a midfielder in the Manchester United academy, he represented the side in Premier League 2 before moving to Rangers in 2021 and going on to make his professional debut for the Glasgow giants.

Quick thinking and skilful, Charlie’s a player who always wants the ball and can produce moments of magic out of nothing.

He comes to Forest Green Rovers full of potential and will have the opportunity to make a big impact now and in the future. After representing England and the Republic of Ireland as youth player, he switched to Northern Ireland as a senior player, gaining two caps in 2022.
