The Club is delighted to announce that Wayne Brown has joined the club as our goalkeeping coach.

Brown is currently the England U23's Lionesses Goalkeeper Coach and will be sharing his responsibilities for the 2024-25 campaign.

Brown began his playing career with Bristol City but soon moved to Chester City in 1996 where he made 289 appearances in a 10-year spell with the club.

During this time, he was capped at England C level seven times.

Brown also has history of winning promotion from the Conference as he helped Hereford to the Football League and into League One - he was also named Player of the Year in the 2008-2009 season.

He left Edgar Street for Bury and following a spell with Supersport in South Africa he then settled down at Oxford United in 2011.

He took over as goalkeeping coach in May 2012 and enjoyed over 12 years at the U's in total as a player and coach.

Whilst focusing largely on providing one-to-one sessions during more recent times with former colleague and Oxford goalkeeper Simon Eastwood, Brown joined the Lionessess in September 2023.

Some eagle-eyed supporters may also have seen Brown with FGR towards the latter stages of last season, too.

We're delighted to welcome Brown to the backroom staff.

On his move to FGR, Brown said: "I'm delighted to be back with FGR following a spell with the club at the back end of last season.

"I'm excited for the challenge that this season has in store and can't wait to get going."
