Forest Green are delighted to announce that Tom Knowles has agreed to join the club and after a medical with join up with his new team mates on July 1st.

Knowles most recently played for League Two Walsall, and made over 70 appearances, Knowles can play in both midfield and attack.

25-year-old Tom Knowles is a welcome addition to the FGR squad.

On his most recent experience at Walsall.

"I was playing at Walsall, and I really enjoyed my time there, there were some ups and downs with some injuries but I had some really good games. We gave it a great push until the final part of the season and it was a shame we didn’t get promoted. I've learned a lot and found a new position throughout the year as well, so overall it was a good challenge.

On why he signed with FGR.

"I have spoken to the Gaffer, and the ambition & views of the Club caught my eye straight away. As a player I want to achieve and win things during my career and FGR feels a perfect place to do that. I hope to get us back to the EFL and then back in to League One.

Every time I have been to The New Lawn it’s been a great ground with good facilities and I've also spoken to a couple of lads who have said nothing but good things! It’s a club with ambition and that aligns with me as a player."

On what he’s looking forward to next season.

"I am looking forward to the challenge of the National League and want to work to get back into EFL, as well as working under the gaffer and meeting my new team mates, and making it a successful season.
