Wrexham are the visitors at The New Lawn this weekend, with a bumper crowd of over 4,000 expected in Nailsworth.
It's our first ever Football League meeting with the Red Dragons and our first clash in over six years. Lots has changed at the North Wales club since then, so here's the lowdown on Saturday's opponents.
Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson is aiming for back-to-back promotions after leading the club to the National League title last season. The 56-year-old is now into his third full season with the North Wales outfit and has won 63.71% of all of his matches.
You won't find many more experienced operators at this level than Parkinson, with this his seventh permanent managerial gig. Parkinson has managed nearly 1,000 professional games, but this will be the first time he's ever faced Forest Green Rovers.
Parkinson is a serial winner having won four promotions with four different clubs. He's won promotion from League Two before with Bradford City but only via the play-offs - and with the Red Dragons currently second in the table, he'll be hoping for a top three finish this term.
Wrexham boast a star-studded squad, particularly in forward areas, but Elliot Lee has been the star performer for the Welsh side this season. Lee has 13 direct goal contributions in 20 games, playing almost 200 minutes more than the Wrexham player with the second most game time this season.
The 28-year-old attacker signed for Phil Parkinson's side in the summer of 2022, dropping from League One to the National League. He was influential in their title-winning campaign, scoring 12 goals in 45 games, with six strikes in the final eight matches.
Lee often plays behind two Wrexham strikers, whether that be Paul Mullin, Ollie Palmer or Sam Dalby.
After winning the National League title with an incredible 111 points, Wrexham only added a few names to their squad during the summer.
The two most high profile arrivals were James McClean and striker Steven Fletcher. Between them, they have over 130 caps for their respective nations, nearly 350 Premier League appearances and over 60 Premier League goals.
McClean has played the fifth most minutes for the Red Dragons this term and while Fletcher is still waiting to complete his first 90 minutes for his new club, he has scored vital, late goals against Salford City and Crewe Alexandra.
Arthur Okonkwo, who is currently injured, has impressed on loan from Arsenal, stepping up after Ben Foster announced his retirement at the start of the season. Will Boyle, a League Two champion a few seasons ago with Cheltenham Town, has played 11 games in the defence after joining from Huddersfield Town in the summer.
Another experienced addition was midfielder George Evans. The midfielder has 150 Championship appearances under his belt and has started all of the Red Dragons' last 11 matches.
