Forest Green Rovers are proud to be supporting Stonewall's Rainbow Laces campaign to Lace Up and Speak Up for LGBTQ+ inclusion in football.
We'll be hosting our dedicated fixture this weekend when Bristol Rovers visit The Fully Charged New Lawn - as well as hosting a round-table discussion with men's and women's players about equality in the game.
By wearing Rainbow Laces, we’re asking people to not only show their support, but to go one step further and open up the conversation about why they support the cause.
We're encouraging fans to speak up to friends, family, colleagues, teams and clubs because every conversation matters, and every conversation takes us one step closer to making sport everyone’s game.
Stonewall is working with other LGBTQ+ organisations towards a ban on conversion therapy. Conversion therapy is any sort of practice aimed at changing an LGBTQIA+ person from being who they are, which doesn't work and causes long-lasting damage.
The UK government has recently launched a public consultation on conversion therapy, and Stonewall are calling on individuals and organisations to tell the government why this practice is so harmful and should be banned.
