Forest Green Rovers couldn't back up Tuesday night's impressive 2-1 win at Barrow, as Steve Cotterill's side fell to a 2-0 defeat at Crawley Town.
Goals either side of half time from Danilo Orsi and Klaidi Lolos ensured the win for the Red Devils.
The first chance of the game fell to Ronan Darcy after 15 minutes, but the Crawley man's weak shot deflect wide.
60 seconds later, Fankaty Dabo broke up the other end but was denied by a perfectly-timed Will Wright sliding challenge in the box.
The hosts took the lead in the 39th minute when Danilo Orsi was in the right place in the box to divert home a cross from the right.
Rovers nearly replied instantly as Manny Osadebe showed great technique with a shot on the volley, but it flew just over the bar.
Vicente Reyes was forced into his first save of the afternoon on the stroke of half-time, leaping to his side to keep out Darcy's left-footed drive.
A double change at the break saw Harvey Bunker and Maxi Oyedele introduced to the action - and it was Oyedele who created the first chance of the half for Rovers, breaking down the right side and pulling the ball back to McCann, who saw a shot from the edge of the box saved by Addai.
Bunker tried his luck from range shortly after but his effort trickled wide of Addai's near post.
Dominic Thompson was the next Rovers player to have a pop, drifting inside from the right and taking a shot on his left foot, which Addai gathered despite initially spilling the effort.
Reyes had to be brave in the 70th minute when a wicked Kellan Gordon cross from the right took a deflection, forcing the young Chilean goalkeeper to come out and punch the ball with Orsi lurking.
Crawley wrapped the game up with just a few minutes remaining as Klaidi Lolos finished off a swift attacking move with an easy finish past Reyes.
The hosts nearly grabbed a third in stoppage time, but Lolos hit the post before Reyes produced a smart save to keep out Forster.
A late Christian Doidge header nearly brought a consolation goal for Rovers, but it was well kept out by Addai.
Rovers are back in action on Saturday with a home game against Tranmere Rovers.
