Preview: Brighton & Hove Albion (H)

August 24th 2022Noah Dougherty

We welcome Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion to The Bolt New Lawn for Round Two of the Carabao Cup.

Graham Potter's men currently sit fifth in the top flight having won two and drawn one of their opening three games.

What we said:

Plymouth-home-Burchnall

"Graham [Potter] and I have talked over the years, we had a similar pathway through university football and we've both been abroad in Scandinavia and of course I followed him - everybody knows I followed him in Östersunds FK," said Burchnall.

"I've so much respect for the work that he's done.

"It will be a tough one tonight. I don't think there's going to be many chinks in their armour, we just have to find one or two and attack them."

What they said:

Graham-Potter-Brighton

"It's an important game for us because it gives us a chance to look at some guys that maybe haven't played so much and some of our younger ones as well," said Graham Potter.

"It's an important game, we want to go there and win but we know our opponent will want to do the same.

"Forest Green are really impressive. They've got their own ideas and a strong identity which is something to be very proud of. They've just appointed Ian who I know well and he's a good, young coach, who has had an impressive pathway in the game."

Team news:

Jordan Moore-Taylor picked up a knock against Plymouth Argyle so may be unavailable, while Matty Stevens and Harry Boyes remain injured.

Myles Peart-Harris could make his FGR debut after joining from Brentford this week.
