Callum Morton scored twice as Forest Green Rovers came from behind to beat Crawley Town 2-1 and moved three points clear of the relegation zone.
David Horseman made three changes to his Rovers side which lost in midweek to Barrow in the hope of grabbing a more positive result. Jamie Robson, Charlie McCann and Teddy Jenks replaced Marcel Lavinier, Jacob Maddox and Tyrese Omotoye - while Jordan Moore-Taylor and Callum Jones returned to the bench.
But it was déjà vu as Rovers found themselves behind inside the opening 10 minutes, for the second game running, when Ronan Darcy drilled a low effort off the post from close range.
James Belshaw proved to be a hero in Rovers' quest for three points, starting just moments after the goal, when he fantastically denied Nicholas Tsaroulla, standing tall to parry his effort wide.
Belshaw earned his plaudits on 20 minutes when he somehow prevented Will Wright doubling Crawley’s lead, denying Wright with his feet from point blank range.
That save sparked inspiration into Rovers as seven minutes later, Morton levelled the game squirming a low effort under Corey Addai after Harvey Bunker did well to find him inside the area.
Kyle McAllister almost had Rovers in front shortly after when his effort from the edge of the box deflected just past the post.
But on the brink of half time, Morton completed the turnaround when McAllister flicked a Belshaw long ball over the Crawley defence for Morton to calmly slot past the keeper from close range.
Belshaw made sure all three points were staying at The New Lawn when he outstandingly clawed Wright’s close-range effort away from goal on the hour mark.
The afternoon's success was made even sweeter on 73 minutes, when The New Lawn welcomed back Jordan Moore-Taylor and Callum Jones following their stints on the side-line.
Rovers now change their focus to next Saturday as we get our FA Cup campaign up and running against Scarborough Athletic. You can find information about tickets and travel, here.
