We are thrilled to announce the signing of Callum Morton on a season-long loan from Salford City.
The striker is our final signing of what has been a busy transfer window for Rovers - with the 23-year-old adding strength and competition to the frontline.
The Torquay-born forward has had spells at the likes of Fleetwood Town, Lincoln City and Peterborough United - although his most memorable stint came at Northampton Town.
At the backend of the 2019/20 season, Morton played 12 times for the Cobblers, scoring eight goals as he helped the side to promotion from League Two. He scored three goals in their play-off campaign, including two against Cheltenham Town in the semi-final second leg.
The energetic striker came through the ranks at West Brom before joining Fleetwood in 2021, where he contributed 17 goals in 46 appearances.
Salford snapped him up back in January - and he’s gone on to play 16 times for the Ammies.
After joining the club, Morton said: “Im delighted to join the club for the season. I can’t wait to get back on the pitch and hopefully scoring lots of goals.”
David Horseman added: “Callum is a player who gives us completely different attributes to what we currently have in the frontline.
“He is quick, energetic and can stretch the opposition backline.”
Director of Football, Allan Steele, said: "We're excited to see what Callum can do during his time here - and we look forward to seeing him link up with his new team-mates next week."
