We are pleased to introduce Bristol Memorial Woodlands as a community partner for our League One campaign.
Based Earthcot Green, near Thornbury, they provide an alternative to the experience of a funeral at a crematorium - allowing families to relax and celebrate the life of a loved one with a service in the chapel and wake in the on-site reception rooms.
A charitable trust has been set up to manage the woodlands forever, Bristol Memorial Woodlands is dedicated to providing the greenest funerals possible and will be working with Rovers to encourage people to think about the environmental impact of funerals.
Christopher Baker, founder of Bristol Memorial Woodlands said: “We are looking forward to working with Forest Green Rovers as community partners. Everyone who chooses Bristol Memorial Woodlands as their final resting place is helping to create a 100-acre nature reserve and bring back natural woodland, which is in decline in the UK.
“We cater for burials and for ashes internments. Burial is by far the greenest funeral option and we are working hard on mitigating all the environmental issues associated with funerals. We believe that we share the same values as Forest Green Rovers who will be just two stops along the motorway from us when the new stadium is complete.”
