Jamille Matt has signed a new contract to keep him at the FGR until the summer of 2023.

Widely regarded as one of the best forwards in the league, the 31-year-old captain has been an integral part of the Rovers squad since joining from Newport County in 2020.

The new contract caps an incredible first-season for the Jamaican superstar, who netted seventeen goals in all competitions as Rovers advanced to the League Two play-offs.

As well as picking up the golden boot award, Matt was selected by his teammates as Player of the Season and the supporters voted him as their star man to complete the triple crown.

On signing his new deal, Matt said: "From the first minute I walked into the club I knew it was a really good fit and the club have shown a lot of belief in me.

"I like to think I've been repaying that on the pitch and would like to think I can do the same for another couple of years."
