VsSalford (H)

April 4th 2021Conor Shaw

Forest Green welcome Salford City to the innocent New Lawn on Easter Monday.

Both sides played out an entertaining goalless draw at the home of the Ammies back in September - where the Salford stopper Václav Hladký kept the Rovers frontline at bay throughout the encounter.

Here is all you need to know ahead of the game:

What we said:

"We just have to make sure we convert our chances and defend our box," said Mark Cooper.

"On Friday, we didn't produce in the final third and we conceded horredous chances.

"It's important that we don't panic. Not a lot has changed around the top of the table. We've still got a big opportunity and we're desperate to try and take it."

Team news:

Dan Sweeney remains on the long-term road to recovery and Jamille Matt will also miss the remainder of the season after sustaining a serious hand injury against Bolton Wanderers.

Ebou Adams continues to be assessed.

Key player: Václav Hladký

Salford-Keeper-01

The Czech goalkeeper joined the Ammies this summer after an 18-month spell with Scottish Premier League outfit St. Mirren, where he was a firm fan favourite.

Originally from Brno in the Czech Republic, Hladky's career started locally with FC Zbrojovka Brno, prior to a couple of loan spells with MSK Breclav, before moving up to the first team.

Then, he moved to Slovan Liberec from where St. Mirren picked him up in 2019 - where he made over 50 appearances for Jim Goodwin's side.

With 37 league appearances to his name for Salford this season, the 30-year-old has 16 clean sheets to his name - second behind Cheltenham keeper Josh Griffiths.

Last time we met:

FGR-News-Sep-Salford-Report

Forest Green maintained an unbeaten start to the League Two season with a 0-0 draw at The Peninsula Stadium.

Hladky brilliantly tipped Jamille Matt's header wide in the second minute and reacted well to deny Aaron Collins when gifted a run on goal by Jason Lowe.

Ebou Adams was inches away from converting a whipped Collins cross just before the break as Rovers pressed - and late in the second half, Ian Henderson squandered a late chance to take all three points.

Somehow, it finished 0-0.

The two sides have met three times, twice last season and in the reverse fixture back in September.

Rovers came out on top in the first meeting, winning 4-0 at the Peninsula Stadium - before Salford claimed all three points in a 2-1 victory back in January 2020.
