Matchday Programme
November 15th 2024FGR Media

An early season top-of-the-table clash graces The New Lawn as Rovers welcome leaders York City to Nailsworth for the first time since 2016 on Saturday, 16 November - 5.30PM KO.

FGR go into the match with impressive form being unbeaten in six league games recording five wins and one draw in that time.

Rovers have also scored two or more goals in each of our four outings in the Vanarama National League.

Fan favourite and clinical finisher Christian Doidge leads the scoring charts at FGR with seven goals, closely followed by the influential midfielder Charlie McCann.

His form has caught the eye with six goals and three assists from a midfield role.

Continuity in the squad has been another key asset. Jed Ward, Adam May, and Jamie Robson have started all 17 league matches so far this campaign, all impressing with consistent performances.

Manager Steve Cotterill also boasts an impressive record since joining Forest Green, including 11 wins in our opening 17 matches in the league.

"The've been in good form this week," says Cotterill. "We're all pretty level headed after last week's good result and that won't have a bearing on this week.

"A match between first and second doesn't make a difference to our preparation for the game."

OUR OPPONENTS

York City boss Adam Hinshelwood has led his Minstermen to a current impressive 12-game unbeaten run in the league dating back to the end of August.

Their latest run extending victory came in a thrilling 5-3 encounter with Hartlepool United making that four straight wins in the league.

Hinshelwood joined the club back in February from National League South Worthing.

The Minstermen acquired the services of striker Ollie Pearce from Worthing who had scored 46 goals in 51 appearances for them last season.

Alongside Pearce, Hinshelwood also reunited with right-back Joe Felix whilst also improving his squad with talent all over the pitch.

Wide-man Tyrese Sinclair (Rochdale) and Ricky Aguiar (Swindon Town) bolstered the attacked whilst Alex Hunt arrived from Grimsby Town to solidify the midfield.
