New Forest Green Rovers loanee Harry Boyes spent time with Premier League champions Manchester City during his youth years before signing for Championship outfit Sheffield United in 2018.
The 20-year-old wide player turned out in the Blades’ youth setup before a first experience of men’s football in the 2020/21 season during a loan stint with Bradford Park Avenue.
Albeit a short spell with the National League North side, Boyes impressed in his 14 appearances before returning to his parent club after just two and a half months.
The following 2021/22 season saw Boyes go out on loan once again, this time stepping up to the National League, signing for Solihull Moors.
The youngster impressed early on at Damson Park and played the full 210 minutes against eventual League One champions Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup, as they narrowly missed out after extra time in the replay.
His first goal in senior football came just a few weeks later in a 4-0 win away to Maidenhead United, as the youngster raced into the box before finishing superbly.
He added to his tally not long into the new year, rifling home an indirect free-kick in a miraculous 3-2 win at Chesterfield, in which they came from two goals behind.
Goals in consecutive matches against Woking and again against Maidenhead later on in the season followed as the Moors had their eyes on the automatic play-off spots.
He volleyed home his fifth and final goal during his time with Neal Ardley’s side away to Weymouth as the Moors finished the season in third place.
But after assisting the final goal in the sides play-off semi-final triumph over Chesterfield, they unfortunately fell short of a first promotion to the Football League, losing to Grimsby Town at the London Stadium.
Boyes’ impressive campaign in the Midlands didn’t go amiss however as he was named in the 2021/22 National League Team of the Season at its climax.
And after returning to his parent club, the highly-rated Boyes put pen to paper signing a new three-year deal at Bramall Lane.
FGR’s new number 11 now links up with Ian Burchnall’s side at The New Lawn for his first experience in the EFL, as Rovers head into a first ever season in the third tier.
