David Horseman has called upon his side to live in the moment and not the past as Forest Green look to end their winless streak against Accrington Stanley.
Rovers have suffered defeats in all of their last five, which Horseman believes could be down to his side focusing too much on the past.
"The players are the most honest, hard-working group you could imagine, and they want to turn this around," said the FGR Head Coach.
“I think too many live in the past or think too much about the future and don’t focus on the present."
It has been hard for Rovers in recent weeks as, on multiple occasions, they have found themselves behind and sometimes behind by two.
But Horseman has noticed that Rovers have managed to find another gear when being behind in such circumstances, which is something the boss wants to end quickly.
“The culture seems to be that when we’re two-nil down, the pressure is relieved. We need to get into a position where we are doing everything instinctively and being ready to go from the off.
“We can’t afford to go two-nil down before we start playing. That's not good enough."
The trip to Stanley is Rovers' next opportunity to start a positive run of form and Horseman is confident that if his side play their way, they can grab a result.
"They have some really good players and a really nice mixture in the way they play," he said. "Some of their short passing is really good, but they also have some big, physical players in the team.
"We're going to need to pick our moments when they come and attack quickly in certain areas. We believe we have enough to get something out of this game, but if we don't defend crosses into the box and if we're not compact - then it will be a tough match"
Rovers will be without Reece Brown again this weekend after it was confirmed he suffered a hamstring injury against Morecambe, keeping the midfielder out for around eight weeks.
But Horseman had positive news with Callum Jones being just a couple of weeks away from a return and Jordon Garrick set to return to training next week.
“Hopefully by the end of the month, given we don’t suffer anymore setbacks, we should be almost at full strength,” Horseman said.
Tickets are available to buy on the day from the Wham Stadium. We'll see you in Accrington, Rovers fans!
