David Horseman has confirmed Forest Green Rovers have suffered a setback ahead of the Colchester United game, losing centre-back, Ryan Inniss, to injury.
Inniss is set to be sidelined for up to 12 weeks after he suffered a stress fracture during this week.
Horseman also confirmed that fellow centre-back, Darnell Johnson, will not feature today after he suffered a groin injury, but doesn’t feel it will be anything to serious.
“Just as you feel like you have turned a corner to then lose big players all the time, for significant periods of time, it hurts," said Horseman.
“We are probably the smallest team in the Football League today but that isn’t to say we can’t be physical and make things tough for them."
But with some positive news, Fankaty Dabo is deemed fit to start today and after getting minutes on Tuesday night, Callum Morton and Jacob Maddox make their first league starts of the season.
“They’ll give us a lot more edge. To play the way we want to play you need athleticism and they all bring that.
“It is really, really exciting for everybody. I am looking forward to watching them today."
