To round off a perfect weekend for Rovers, midfielder Harvey Bunker has been named in the Vanarama National League Team of the Week.
Bunker kicked off the scoring with a superb top corner finish during our 2-0 victory over York City on Saturday night sending Rovers top of the National League.
The 21-year-old has started both of Rovers’ last two games against Maidenhead United and York scoring in both alongside some commanding performances in our midfield.
Those goals take the midfielders tally to four goals and one assist in all competitions so far this season.
And to highlight the impressive season Rovers are currently having, Bunker becomes the 15th Forest Green player to be included in the National League’s Team of the Week in 18 games.
Charlie McCann boasts the most appearances with four, Christian Doidge and Jed Ward each have two inclusions.
Kyle McAllister, Liam Sercombe, Ryan Inniss, Ben Tozer, Adam May, Jamie Robson and now Bunker all have one appearance to their names so far.
Congratulations Harvey, a deserved accolade from one of Rovers’ very own!
