Rovers had good test against Championship side Coventry City in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Lilleshall Sports Centre this afternoon.
A goal in the first-half from Ben Sheaf proved to be enough to separate the two sides in a 1-0 victory for the Sky Blues.
Ian Burchnall's side started the brighter of the two teams, as new signing Reece Brown sent his strike onto the crossbar from range with Coventry keeper Simon Moore well beaten.
The hosts managed to break the deadlock just 11 minutes into the encounter courtesy of Sheaf, who weaved forward from midfield to bend his effort home from outside the area.
Rovers continued to knock on the door for a leveller - and City stopper Moore was forced into a good save to deny Corey O’Keeffe’s low effort from inside the penalty area.
Mark Robins' side almost doubled their advantage after the break when Fabio Tavares sent a cross into the box, but it was turned onto the woodwork and away from danger by Oliver Casey.
It's a visit to Swindon Supermarine next for Burchnall's side - as they look to step up preparations ahead of the upcoming League One campaign.
