March 30th 2023FGR Media

Forest Green Rovers ranked first in Sport Positive's EFL Sustainability Rankings, which were published by the BBC on Wednesday morning.

EFL clubs were scored on 11 sustainability schemes, including transport, waste, single-use plastics and food. Rovers scored a maximum of 24 points for its many schemes, which sees us recognised as the world's first UN certified carbon-neutral football club.

Chairman, Dale Vince, told BBC Sport: "It's great to see the extent to which sustainability in football has become a thing, almost but not yet - an accepted part of the game."

Head Coach, Duncan Ferguson, added: "It has really opened my eyes. I have learned how easy it is to make little changes to how we live our lives and if we all made those changes it would make a huge difference to our planet."
