Forest Green Rovers have been awarded the EFL’s Family Excellence Award for a third consecutive season.

An EFL report highlighted our passion for creating a family-friendly atmosphere at The New Lawn, ranking the club 19th of out 72 for family excellence and fifth in Sky Bet League Two.

In 2007, the EFL launched the Family Excellence Scheme to reward clubs for their efforts in delivering an outstanding family experience.

Year on year, EFL clubs continue to provide engaging and innovative match day entertainment for families, whilst finding new and unique ways to attract fans and their families to matches.

Last season, Rovers were praised in their ability to connect with young fans – and were commended for providing a good example of how to utilise space to create a family atmosphere.

We were recognised as offering a good presence across social media channels, friendly and helpful service from staff – plus, being able to offer a wide range of refreshments. This was alongside being able to bring our green ethos to life on a match day, with the club described as a ‘compelling family destination’.
