We are thrilled to announce the signing of goalkeeper Luke Daniels.

A vastly-experienced shot-stopper, Daniels makes the move to The New Lawn after leaving Middlesbrough this summer.

The 35-year-old began his career at Manchester United’s Academy. He then spent 11 years at West Brom, which included loan spells to the likes of Shrewsbury Town, Tranmere Rovers and Bristol Rovers.

Daniels has spent the last six years at Championship level, spending four years at Brentford and the other two at Boro.

In total, Daniels has made over 220 EFL appearances, with the majority coming in League One.

“I’m delighted to be here,” said Daniels. “It’s been in the works over the last couple of weeks and it’s sped up over the last few days.

“I had a great chat with Allan [Steele] and Dan [Connor] - and it just seemed to fit where I am in my career.

“I want to get back playing football and I want to get promoted.”

Director of Football, Allan Steele, added: “Luke is a great addition to our squad - and he is another who is a top character.

“Having known Luke for a number of years, I’ve seen how he can motivate, inspire and lead a group, as well as perform at a high level in the Championship.”
