Introducing the fifth member of the Ever Green Club... Dale Bennett!
The Ever Green Club is Forest Green Rovers' very own Hall of Fame, which aims to recognise and celebrate the achievements of some of our most successful and iconic figures from throughout the club's history.
Joining former team-mates Sam Russell and Keanu-Marsh Brown in the club, as well as Paul 'Oggy' Hunt and Joseph Mills, Bennett made nearly 200 appearances during his five-and-a-half years at Rovers.
Bennett played an integral role in helping FGR get to the Football League for the first time in the club's history. He featured for Rovers at Wembley in both of our National League play-off finals - and he barely missed a minute of action during the 2016-17 promotion-winning campaign, which culminated in him lifting the National League play-off winners trophy alongside Liam Noble.
He played 33 games in League Two in the following season as helped steer Rovers to EFL safety.
When he departed The New Lawn in 2018, Club Chairman Dale Vince said: “I’m going to miss Dale Bennett, as it feels like he’s always been here.
"I loved watching him play – real passion, total commitment and a super guy too, so I wish him all the best."
Bennett will be back at The New Lawn on Saturday, March 16 as he gets officially unveiled as our fifth member of the Ever Green Club. The former flying full-back will be speaking in the Carol Embrey Suite ahead of the match against Sutton United, one of Bennett's former clubs.
You can book your spot in the Carol Embrey Suite for this game by visiting Seat Unique, our official hospitality partners, or by emailing hospitality@fgr.co.uk.
