Amadou Bakayoko signed from Bolton Wanderers this week to become our sixth signing of the January transfer window.
Here, we take a look at Bakayoko's career journey so far.
Bakayoko started his English football journey at Walsall, establishing himself in the youth sides. He then went on to make his first-team debut in April 2014 in a 1-0 defeat to Port Vale. The striker continued to feature off the bench for the remainder of the 2013/14 season.
Bakayoko was sent out on loan to then-Conference Premier side, Southport, in October 2014, with the Sierra Leone international scoring two goals in 11 games.
After spending a month with the Merseyside outfit, a loan move to AFC Telford United followed, before spending time at Worcester City, where he averaged a goal every three games.
During the 2016/17 League One season, Bakayoko cemented his name at the Bescot Stadium, playing 39 times as the Saddlers finished 14th in League One.
Bakayoko featured heavily in the following campaign, playing over 3,000 minutes across all competitions.
After impressing in his previous two seasons, Bakayoko swapped the West Midlands for the East Midlands in the summer of 2018, securing a move to Coventry City.
The forward played alongside Michael Doyle at Coventry - and he directly contributed to 17 goals in 85 appearances during his time at the Club. He helped the Sky Blues to the League One title in the Covid-affected 2019/20 campaign, finding the back of the net on four occasions.
Bakayoko got a taste of Championship football the following season - playing 14 times English football's second tier.
Expectations were high when the forward signed for Bolton Wanderers at the beginning of the 2021/22 season, following their automatic promotion from League Two.
Bakayoko scored on his debut - bagging Bolton's second goal in a thrilling 3-3 draw against an impressive MK Dons side.
He quickly became a fans' favourite and he boasted an incredible goalscoring record last term. He scored 13 times from just 17 starts, scoring memorable, late goals against Oxford United, Morecambe and Crewe Alexandra.
Bakayoko has still featured heavily for the Trotters this season, making an appearance in 20 of Bolton's 25 League One matches. However, starts have been limited for the striker.
Bakayoko signed for Rovers on Thursday and could make his debut on Saturday against Exeter City.
Our new number 21 has promised to bring energy to Rovers' frontline - and he'll be hoping to replicate last season's sensational form in front of goal.
