Bunker pens new Rovers deal

January 27th 2022Conor Shaw

Harvey Bunker has today penned a contract extension which will see him stay at The Fully Charged New Lawn for another year.

The 18-year-old has made four senior appearances for Rovers, featuring in this season's Papa John's Trophy meetings with Walsall and Chelsea U21s.

Bunker also plied his trade with National League South side Chippenham Town this campaign, scoring twice.

He said: "When you come through the academy and into the first team you feel a real part of it.

"All the lads are great and it's a joy to work with Rob Edwards and Richie Kyle. Hopefully they can bring me forward as a player and I can push on from there."

Rich Hughes, Director of Football, said: "We're delighted to keep Harvey with us for a further year. He has developed since making the transition from the academy to first-team, not just as a player but also as a person.

"He’s a really hardworking player who wants to learn and his experiences with Chippenham Town this season have really given him a taste for first-team football."
