In one of our shortest away trips of the season, Rovers travel to Walsall on Saturday in a League Two clash.
Looking to take the positives from last weekend's score draw with Grimsby Town, David Horseman's side have already played the Saddlers this season, winning in a penalty shootout in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy.
“They stick to what they do. They’re really solid without the ball.
“They get their eights down the sides and [Isaac] Hutchinson comes inside and he’s a really talented player for the level. [Tom] Knowles is a handful down the sides and they get their full-backs, especially [Liam] Gordon, joining in.
“We know what they can do. They’re a really good, well-organised team with some good individuals for the level.”
“They’ve suffered heavily through injuries and they’ll be working towards getting some players back," said Walsall boss Mat Sadler. "When they do, they’ve got a really, really good team for the division.
“We have to be on top, ride the tough moments and give our all in the good moments. It’ll be a blood and thunder games as both teams will be desperate to win the game.”
Ryan Inniss and Jordon Garrick have made good progress over the last couple of weeks and could feature in the squad this weekend.
“Jordon hasn’t kicked a ball all season, so we will need to see how both of them are, but we hope they may both be in contention,” said David Horseman.
Callum Morton and Reece Brown are further behind in their roads to recovery, but both players have been out on the grass at Stanley Park this week.
Troy Deeney is available after serving his one-match suspension, while Charlie McCann is back from international duty. The midfielder played 30 minutes for Northern Ireland U21s against England on Tuesday evening.
Matty Stevens (knee), Matty Taylor (hamstring), Nathan Holland (hamstring), Marcel Lavinier (hamstring) and Luke Daniels (quad) remain out.
Tickets have now gone off sale for tomorrow's trip to the West Midlands - BUT they are available on the gate at the Bescot Stadium.
Please note, there will be a £2 increase on any tickets purchased on the day of the game.
