Forest Green Rovers are delighted to announce Jack Aitchison has returned to the Club from Barnsley.

The former Celtic youngster joins FGR on a season-long loan deal after previously playing at The New Lawn during the 2019/20 season, making 30 appearances and scoring six goals.

Aitchison rose through the ranks at Celtic Park and at just 16-years-old, he scored on his Celtic debut with his first touch in a 7-0 victory over Motherwell.

A permanent move to Oakwell for the 21-year-old then materialised last October - before joining fellow League Two outfit Stevenage on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

On his return to Forest Green, Aitchison commented: “Coming into the stadium it felt like I’d never been away.

“When I heard I would be going back out on loan there was only one place I wanted to be and that was here.

“I can’t wait for fans to be allowed back in and to play in front of them again.”

Rich Hughes, Director of Football, said: "We're delighted to be allowed to bring Jack back to the Club. He was brilliant for us last time he was here and when the opportunity became available, it was a no-brainer for us."
