Not only has the FGR Academy been busy playing matches throughout December but have also been very visible in the Community including two events in the calendar.
On the December schedule, there has been two Christmas Jumper Sessions on 5 December (U9s & U10s) and 6 December (U11s-U16s).
These were met with an excellent turnout at the Academy players who attended sessions in their very own Christmas jumper.
On Monday, 9 December, our Academy players also attended Stroud Stands with Ukraine - where we asked players to donate a present for a child less fortunate this Christmas - however big or small with anything gratefully received.
This is the second year of supporting Stroud Stands with Ukraine where we collect presents from our Academy players and parents during Christmas jumper sessions.
Stroud Stands With Ukraine supports families who have moved to the area from Ukraine.
Charlie Watt, Player Care Officer at FGR Academy said, “It’s great what we’ve been able to achieve in the Community during December. It’s important to highlight the importance of the Community at any time of the year, but Christmas is particularly special.”
“Our Academy players and parents have shown outstanding generosity in supporting those less fortunate, as well as our scholars devoting their time to supporting our local community.”
A big thank you to all those who attended and we wish the Academy a happy festive period!
