Connor Wickham's debut goal proved to earn Forest Green a point on the road at Lincoln City in League One.
Ian Burchnall made three changes from Rovers' previous league encounter - with Armani Little, Oliver Casey and Josh March all selected in the starting eleven on a sizzling day in Lincolnshire.
Both sides spent the opening fifteen minutes trying to impose themselves on the match and there were limited chances until March managed to get a shot on-target. The Rovers striker managed to beat the offside trap, but Imps stopper Carl Rushworth was equal to his effort.
Burchnall's charges dominated the ball for the majority of the first-half, limiting the home side to very few opportunities to test Luke McGee. Within the final five minutes, former Brighton youngster Max Sanders sent a free-kick directly at the Rovers keeper - before enforced substitute Jordon Garrick forced a low save deep into added time.
Winless so far this season, Mark Kennedy's side started the brighter of the two sides in the opening five minutes of the second half - and almost took the lead. A misjudged header from the Rovers defence into the path of Tom Hopper gave the Imps skipper a golden opportunity - only to skew his chance well wide.
And it was the home side who opened the scoring just after the hour mark. A low cross sent into a packed penalty box was eventually turned into the back of the Rovers net by Baily Cargill.
But it wasn't long until the visitors found the equaliser. Substitute wing-back Sean Robertson did well to charge down the right flank and send in a low cross looking for March, but the ball found it's way to Connor Wickham - who held off his marker and fired his strike into the back of the net.
Moments later and fellow substitute David Davis almost put the visitors ahead - only for his strike from inside the box was saved by the leg of Rushworth.
