A much improved Rovers performance earned a well deserved point and a clean sheet against Fleetwood Town under the lights at The Bolt New Lawn.
Myles Peart-Harris returned to the starting line-up as the only change for Rovers, with Kyle McAllister due to miss out a number of weeks due to a groin injury picked up against Barnsley.
Just seven minutes, Jack Marriott saw his audacious effort rattle against the Rovers bar. Much to the relief of the Rovers defence who have been much more solid since then.
Forest Green had a great opportunity of their own after 20 minutes when Jamie Robson darted down the left flank towards the byline and fizzed a low cross towards the oncoming Tyrese Omotoye, but the frontman couldn't make any contact.
A pretty even affair began to open up when Harvey Bunker tried his luck from 20 yards out after Charlie Savage played a perfect cushioned pass to the 20-year-old, but his effort rocketed over the crossbar.
Omotoye had the perfect opportunity to put Rovers a goal to the good 10 minutes into the second interval when Udoka Godwin-Malife managed to find the rising head of Omotoye, but his attempt travelled just wide.
Both teams searched for the opener with half-an-hour to play and it was Fleetwood’s turn to try their luck when the ball was spread wide to Carl Johnston, with his lobbed effort landing on top of the net.
Ross Doohan produced a moment of magic when a bending effort from Shaun Rooney looked to be sailing towards the bottom left corner before the Scot managed to get a strong hand to it and clear the danger.
Harvey Bunker had his sights set on goal shortly after Rooney’s chance as the ball came to him with space to trouble Jay Lynch who had to tip the ball over the bar to keep out what would’ve been an absolute screamer.
Neither team was able to secure all three points and Rovers set their sights to Derby Day on Saturday against Cheltenham Town.
